DLT Hydro•DriTM Drying Technology
DLT Hydro•DriTM proprietary drying process uses heat transfer technology and the specific properties of water to gently remove moisture from wet material. Aphanizomenon flos-aquae or algae extract is placed on a moving food grade Mylar belt supported by computer-controlled hot water tables. Conduction drying occurs as heat from the hot water supporting the belt is transferred to the water in the material to be dried. The water within the product evaporates leaving a thin film of dried flakes. Material dried through the Hydro•DriTM process is exposed to heat for only a brief moment, delivering a dried product close to its natural state.

Desert Lake Technologies is the only Klamath Lake harvesting company that is fully integrated, and controls every aspect of algae processing from harvest to drying.
Our distinctive processes result in the cost-efficient production of high quality Aphanizomenon flos-aquae and extraordinary cyanophyta extracts containing a bounty of natural, vital nutrients.
Our on-site drying capabilities enable drying without the high cost of transporting frozen raw materials to out-of-state drying facilities.
The utilization of theDLT Hydro•DriTM drying process combined with defrayment of long-distance refrigerated transportation costs, results in our ability to produce superior quality products cost-efficiently, affording pass-along savings to our customers.
